This is the first in a series of workshops featuring decorative painting techniques. Glazing, venetian plaster, color wash, suede, metallic finishes, these surface finishes are achieved through applying, layering, glazing, putting on and taking off the paint in different ways. Specialty paint finishes can be used to decorate walls, furniture, and frames. Color mixing is important to achieve realistic and pleasing results.
The first session ( new date TBD) in this series will cover several color washing and glazing techniques with information on supplies and materials necessary. We will go step by step though the variations that are possible using different colors, mica powders, metallic paints, tools, and coatings and each student will create a master sample board that they can then take home for reference later.
